So much chocolate so little time.. I make a fairly valiant effort to shop in every chocolate store I come across in my travels. Next to shiny things made of precious metals it is one of my favorite things to give and one of my favorite things to receive.
Recently I dropped in on Gearharts Fine Chocolates in Charlottesville, VA while visiting a friend as part of my personal exodus of I lost my job now what to do next with my life. Their chocolates are quality both visually and on the tongue, they melt nice and the flavors don't overpower the characters of the chocolate. I am primarily a dark chocolate fan and Gearharts selection is smallish so I unfortunately only tried three of their chocolates. My purchase consisted of the Earl Grey, the Michigan Cherry and a small package of Salt Caramels which, I actually bought for my mom who once told me she loves caramels and may regret that by now because that's all I buy her. I have to admit while their chocolate was enjoyable my favorite thing that I came across in the store was this... Mas Guapo is a side project of the owners, they are fantastic little rubs that go on almost anything it even comes with a little mustache. Makes for a great gift for another foodie or yourself.
so mas guapo
hello chocolate
