I never really imagined a time in my life where I would ask this question.. Why is there an Indian restaurant in my ice cream shop?? While I will say the food was good and affordable the reality is still a little weird. I will definitely be visiting again, the atmosphere, price, quality, service time, friendliness and quantity are spot on for a funky hole in the wall eating establishment. The food is good.. (not the most amazing Indian I've come across) but good for a small town.. the mango lassi kicks every mango lassi's ass out of the water. It wasn't the normal cloying thick stuff a lot places try to pass off as lassi. it was light and frothy with a touch of cardamom and other spices blended with ice so it had a milkshake quality about it.. big hearts.. I will be stocking a supply of lactaide in the car for impulse lassi consumption.
i'm not lying i swear it's more than an indian take out menu in an ice cream shop.. It's a must see for yourself kind of place, because the decorations are even weirder than the combination.. to sum up the places decorum i will give you these snippets. A sombrero hangs from one wall, another wall has a mural of medieval princess knight stuff, there's some day of the dead-esque stuff.. the list goes on.. it's located off sweeten creek in Arden, NC.
I'm confused as well by the new Thai 'hot girls in a box' style drive thru where the old 1 eggroll house was. It is dubiously named Sam's Thai food and appears unable to house enough kitchen space to make anything other than espresso drinks. I will try it and report. I bet it doesn't have a sombrero tho.....
